i was in a hurry running to work and left my headlights on all day (hid's). when i got out of work my car was toatally dead.... i needed a jump. when i jumped my car it started normaly... but somewhere between work and home (6 mi) when i come to a stop it stalls. when i push in the clutch the rpm's drop real low.... some times it dies. some times it doesnt. if it dies while im turning at a intersection and i let go of the clutch the car will start back up... if not i try to start it real fast.... this is like the 10 or 12 time my battewry has been jumped.. did jumping my car last night screw up the battery or is there something else i should be looking at..... please help!!! if i start it from a stop it may or may not die....... but if i hit the gas... the rpm's go up..then the rpms drop to almost one.... then nearly dies...... i was told it might be the BISS. So i do i set the BISS corectly?

Have you replaced your battery with a new battery yet? Your battery might not be holding charge any longer and may need to be replaced.

Test your alternator and check the belt for it. Your battery sounds shot, but hook it up to a charger over night and see if it takes a charge. Let us know the results.

EDIT: Also check your battery terminals for corrosion and make sure they are on tight. If there is corrosion build up on your terminals take some Coca Cola and pour a little bit on the terminal and it will take off the corrosion.

i had the same problem and it ended up being something as small as taking off the terminals cleaning them with either coca cola classic or terminal cleaner. then tighten them back up

If the BISS was set properly before the battery died, there's no reason you should have to reset it now. The car's not doing well on idle because the alternator isn't producing as much current at idle as it is when the engine is running higher. Hitting the gas brings up the engine, and the alternator is able to produce enough current to keep things running smoothly for a bit. If your battery has been jumped 10-12 times... it's probably dead like ceaser as Defiant said.

Sounds like your battery or alternator is dead...a quick test to see what it is, is to turn on your car, then disconnect the positive terminal on the battery. If the car turns off, then your alternator is bad. If your car stays on, then your alternator is holding charge and chances are your bad took the plunge down the drain.

well when the battery died and you jumped it, ran like crap at low revs cause the alt couldn't produce enough at idle (as mentioned above) was pretty much like having the negative terminal removed.. I'd say you should prepare to replace it but it'll probably work for a while longer with a stronger battery, either charge it up with a charger or go for a spiritted driving session with some high revs to see if you can give it a good charge with your not so good alt... also if you have a voltmeter/multimeter you could check the output from the alt at idle.. strong will be 14+ 13 point something is ok, once you dip into the 12 it seems it's on the way out.. from my experiences anyway.

Your computer has been reseted when your car was out of battery. What I would do is that "take a 10 mins driving on freeway, then stop you car for a few mins without turn off the key". Restart your car, it will be worked fine.
Here is the case: Computer of your car need to relearn if there is any block of power (out of battery, diconnect the negective). It is normal. Good luck!!
