:dsm: Hi new to the site...I just got a logger and almost wish i didn't. I have like 30-40knock seems to follow the tps -15 timing wot. I was wondering if lifters could cause the sensor to pick up knock? thanks for any input.:dsm:

Absolutely.

This is decent reading which covers a lot of areas:

But search "phantom knock" or "revised lifters" and you will see tons of threads on why the lifters can cause knock, how to clean them, replace them, where to buy them for cheap, etc.

You could also search MCCC. That one's sure to be a winner on this topic.

MCCC or Seafoam (my product of choice), and a can of restore. Will definitely cure your heavy lifter tick.

mccc???? what's that ,new knocksensor from autozone 2k on rebuilt motor ,retouqued sensor other day, still the same, 19psi, seen another thread saying the cas could be out 180 so going to do that later to day.

MCCC is mopar combustion chamber cleaner. Just rids the carbon build-up, but if you have a fresh rebuild you shouldn't have a lot of carbon. I wouldn't buy a KS from autozone, I'd get an OEM from conicelli or a local dealership.

Do you have lifter tick? Any ticking in the motor area? The KS can pick up any metal noise and tell the ECU there is knock.

I see never heard it called that , yeah little tick after cams went in, Here i go chasing that damn unicorn:beatentodeath:

the revised lifters will help! they have 2mm bigger opening. I was experinecing the same problems as you and i put the new lifters in and the knock started to read only 4 counts at full boost (20 psi)
