ok heres what i have 92 gst stock 5 speed.ok car goes into first if i have the clutch on the floor but sometimes i have to put it in 3rd before first gear 2nd gear when i pull it back it sometimes feels like it clicks into gear other times it doesnt and grinds bad.when it clicks in i pull it back and it stops as i let the clutch up a little bit it comes back a 1/8 inch and its in 3rd is kinda the same.4th is good 5th is fine. anyideas?

More often than not, shifting problems are clutch related. Have you done anything to the clutch recently? I would check the fluid level and possibly bleed the system and check the pedal freeplay adjustment. A properly adjusted clutch should allow you to shift freely into all gears with the car idling when it is approximately 1/2" off the floor. Let us know if none of that makes a difference for you.

yu have to adjust the clutch rod where it goes from the pedal assy. through the firewall to the clutch master cylinder. On a 1 g this rod is above the gas pedal. To find it look under the dash at the clutch pedal, follow it to the top & then over to the right side toward the gas pedal. You will then see the rod that goes to the master cylinder. Also, before you do that, push the pedal down and then release it, after doing that reach down and pull up toward you on the clutch pedal. Does it come up any more?? If it does you will need to either tighten up the nut on the linkage under th dash or replace the bushings in it. That nut is located where the adjusting rod is under the dash. I think it takes a 14mm deepwell socket. If you have any questions email me.

Ok i pushed the pedal to the floor let it come up, then i reached down and pulled it up. It didnt move so it was all the way up. Whats my next step?

Ok so my clutch grabs right off the floor. Which way do i adjust it?

If you want it to grab a little higher off the floor, turn the rod out toward the firewall. That will be something you will have to adjust and then try it and repeat until you get it right. Usually you can adjust them to where the end of the rod is flush with the hole it is thread into and it will release in the middle, but every car can be different. That has just always been my experience. :dsm:
