I am hitting 11 psi all the way to 6700 rpms but it does not seem like 11 psi seems like 4 or 5 the way it pulls so what could be a problem? I dont have a boost leaks i looked all that over but I do know that this car easts gas way worse than my mustang gt, I am getting about 85 miles to 1/2 tank, i do have a adj fpr and a 255 fuel pump but i only get on it every now and then but i dont think that has anything to do with the power not being there so does anyone know??

When was the last time you replaced your o2 sensor? Also, do you have any fuel control devices? What's your fuel pressure with the vacuum line detached?

Dunno about the O2 sensor I have had the car for 2 days, yes i have a adj fpr BUT the gauge on it is not working, Do you think it is set high (allowing too much fuel?)

I agree with brute on the above statement completly. What type of fuel control? Have you changed your O2? Get back to us.

I dont know the exact brand of the fpr, can i ask how a O2 sensor would do this?

It's very possible. You can pick up a new gauge from Import Evolution. Make sure you buy a liquid filled since the non-filled units die pretty quickly from vibration. You can find gauges here:

http://www.importevolution.com

and a new OEM Denso O2 sensor here:

http://www.sparkplugs.com

Between the two of them you could be drowning in fuel and that alone would make any motor feel like a slug and eat gas.

Typically, a failing O2 that doesn't cycle voltage properly will read lean and dump tons of fuel in a misguided attempt to keep the motor safe from what it thinks is a dangerous condition. As a result awful performance and gas mileage became your best friend. After a certain point, the ECU will enter limp mode and driveability will be severely affected.

An AFPR is not fuel control like we mean. I would definatly get a gage that works and take a look at it. I think that it is 44 psi for the fuel pressure. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Hmm ill have to check on that but i forgot to mention that my tps is completly inop, got voltage but tps will not give any ohms when tested, plus i can disconnect the harness and the engine does nothing so do you think this could have something to do with it?

I'm not sure of the specific side effects, but it might have a lot to do with your condition. The ECU treats WOT differently, so if it doesn't know when you're WOT, it's probably not behaving properly. Andy will surely chime in with all of his 5-star wisdom ;).

ECU and electrical is really Steve's domain. I think he's forgotten more than I know. Drop him a PM with a thread link or try a search for titles only under TPS and see what comes up.

nothing comes up with the "tps" search, i am going to check the compression and do a boost leak test again, first time on the compression test tho so we will se how that goes, I do have a LOT of air coming out of the breather if i put my finger over it and then take it releases a a$$load of air, the pcv is working.

If you boost leak test on a cold motor, the piston ring blowby will be much higher, and you'll see a lot of air leaking out the breather. Warm the motor up before boost leak tests. If it still leaks a lot of air, it could be a compression issue.

You say your PCV is working. Make sure you test it under high pressure as well (5psi higher than the boost you plan to run is a good rule of thumb). Pull it from the VC and do the boost leak test; if air leaks out of the PCV at test pressure, that's going to contribute to the VC breather leak.

As for the compression test, make sure you do it on a warmed up motor at WOT, and get atleast 4 "thumps". More details can be found here. That site lists the service range of compression numbers. If I could see where you live while composing this message (that's so annoying), I could tell if you were at high altitude or not. If you are above 500ft, you should correct your compression numbers for altitude. I found a couple of sites for this altitude compensation, but don't have them bookmarked. Just ask, and I'll track one of them down.

EDIT: Okay, I believe that Oklahoma City is near sea level. I found that Google Earth is a good way to find your exact altitude, so you could try that if you wanna get picky ;).

Ok did a boost leak test and it holds 20 psi pretty good, it blead off really slow but I only found 1 leak, the hose going into the pcv had a small crack. I did not get to the compression test but i dont think thats the issue, i am getting another tps in the morning so we will see if that helps with the power or not, mabye i need bigger exhaust and more boost to really feel it.
