i was wondering whats rpm everybody shifts at in every day driving not racing or anything to do with racing just every day driving

Ummm when it is colder and I've just started the car, ususally around 3.5-4k in the lower gears. They go into the next gear easier. Then 3-4 and 4-5 around 3k-3.5k.

If it's warmer I'll also shift around 3-3.5k for all my gears even when starting out.

4500 alot of times 5000-5500 hard to keep my foot out of it. :shhh: Just can't help my self no mater how hard I try.

I usuallly dont take it any higher then 3k when just driving around. It whatever your preference is really. But just remember what gas prices are these days ROFL .

i do between 4 and 6k and get 188 miles to a half a tank so wonder if i would get better gas milage or not

2.5k-3k till thing warn up
3-4k after that, depending on what pulls up next to me at the x-mas tree. Ummm I mean stop light.

What is the point of this thread? Just shift when you want to shift, who cares what Joe Blow shifts at. Shift at whatever rpm you are comfortable with.
I however shift at different points at different times. 3/4 of the time im not paying attention to the tach, i go by engine sound. If just going stop light to stop light its usually around 3k but getting on the interstate its around 5-6k up 3rd to get up with traffic.

8,000 LOL j/k..

More around 3-3.5

haha!

I shift also at around 2.5k-3k usually when I cruise around, which is right before the turbo kicks in. My foot does get awfully heavy often and im actually only getting 150 miles at the half tank mark.

Before the conversion I was able to get about 215 miles right at the 1/2 tank marker! The boost bug has been biting....no more good mileage for me =(. (This is just me though)

I don't go much over 4k except for on ramps... haha
is anybody else addicted to ripping up on ramps faster then the traffice beside you?

I've also squirmed out 150 miles to 6.2 gallons of gas with some nice driving

Here here!. I love showing those ####y v8 cadillacs/buicks that just because it's a v8, it's not fast.

The only time I have ever came close to getting 150 miles on a half tank was coming home from spokane babying the hell out of my car (its 250 miles by the way) I get that on about a tank might squeze 175 but I dont do alot of freeway driving either and comute every day in a bunch of traffic.

I shift at 5000 rpm's all the time, except 3000 rpm's in heavy traffic and f##@ the gas prices, I pay 2.50 per gal for 97 octance + NX otance booster. voom voom bye-bye

I pay $2.85 a gallon for 92 octane consider yourself lucky. I like to let my car warm up. Then i drive it nice until i feel the need to rip it. Usually i never let it go over 3k unless theres a kid in the next car who wants to race then i take it up to redline.

Where do you buy the NX. All I can find online is for the ODBII shit.
