Well i am not sure i i am going to go with this one(not getting one right yet) but i would like to know if anyone can give me a link of the best priced one i could get(has to be real, no knock off ones for me). also if someone could give me a list of the neccasaary things i would need to buy with it? this is going to be my daily driver, but i can;t stand the t25 so i figured i might as well upgrade(hate not having any top end!)

i just need to know what in all i need to accompany this turbo set up on my 96 gst? like i said this is not going to be a track or drag car at all and no racing. just want to have lots of power for highway crusing mostly. so what would i need to buy and what if anyhting would i need to custom modify for it?

any info would help alot. (o damn hard to figure out which turbo to get, everyone makes such a good case for either the evo3 or the 50 trim) driving me crazy haha.

Forced Performance sells 50-trims, as do lots of other dsm vendors. Going from stock to a 50-trim is a huge jump (based on your vehicle profile, you don't have much) so there's lots of stuff you need before you're ready to jump knee deep into a 50-trim.

You need more fuel. A stock pump, with stock injectors isn't going to cut it. They won't supply enough fuel to satisfy something like a 50-trim.

You need a larger intercooler. The stock one will be heatsoaked in a heartbeat with a turbo that large.

You need some adjustability in your ecu, either in the form of a standalone engine management system, or a piggyback device, like a safc.

This is just the beginning of what you'll need. You need to do more research on what kind of supporting items you need before you throw on a turbo that'll push your engine beyond what it's currently capable of doing.

Ok thanks. yaeh i am well aware that i will need to do all the supporting mods and i plan on that, just trying to see what in all i would really need , i mostly want to know what sort of custom work i need to do if any? do i need to change the wastegates or manifolds or anything like that? i plan on the fmic and all fuel upgrades including dsmlink as well as exhaust etc. seems like from what i hear the 16g is not a good top end turbo which i like alot and the bb 50 trim seems to have it all.

can anyone let me know prety much what i would need to install it? i understand all the supporting mods like fuel and fmic etc, just dont understand what sort of oil lines or wastegates or porting or exhaust mani i would have to do etc. if anyone knows please let me know. thanks

Well first off you have a lot of research to do. If you get a PTE they require running their own water lines and you have to feed the oil from the housing with a inline micron filter. Make sure wherever you get it you read all the warranty issues.

If your serious about jumping to a 50 trim I would strongly suggest a external gate. You can either run it off the Manifold or the O2. You could run it off your stock manifold if you take it to a exhaust shop and weld the flange on.

When installing it you'll probably have to dent the waterpipe. Heres a awesome right up about the PTE BB 50 trim. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=218036

If your FWD I would think you wouldn't mind the lag as it would be better for traction.

Goodluck on your venture.

DiamondStarMotorsport.com sells water line kits for Garrett turbocharger housings. They also sell oil line kits as well. If you go with an internally gated turbo, you can use your stock manifold and O2 housing. Externally gated turbos can vary based upon what kind of flange it will use, whether it's a mitsubishi flange, or a T3-style flange. If you go external, you'll have better boost control, but you may also have to do a bit of fabrication. Slowboy racing sells 2G style manifolds that can be adapated for an external wastegate, but you can also find a number of vendors who sell tubular manifolds that are ready for use with an external wastegate as well.
