Ive read all of the other forums on this topic but havent gotten a good answer so please give me any suggestions.Ok here goes....I bought an ebay air intake(bad idea) i unplugged my battery and maf and installed my air intake. Afterwards my car was holding back real bad like it had no acceleration. So i put the stock air intake back on and it started running better but not like it did. It stalls every once in a while idling and while coming to a stop, The idle is lower than usual, the gas smells raw, the car now holds back a little in lower gears but at high boost usually in 4th and 5th it really holds back. The acceleration is descent but not the same. sometimes it cuts out when i let off the gas.I have changed the plugs from double platnums:notgood: to ngk 7es, the magnecore wires were on it when i bought it so i havent changed those yet. There is no CEL just crappy driving. Oh and it spits carbon sometimes when i start it. Im thinking its running rich :| but idk for sure becuase im not quite knowledgable about dsm..yet. I dont think i left anything out but if anyone needs more info let me know. Thanks for any help!

Yeah make sure you plugged the MAS sensor back in. Its really easy to forget. Especially when you put a new mod in and your anxious to hear it. Matter of fact i forgot to plug mine back in on tuesday. Also after you unplug the battery most cars usually idle bad for a little bit just take it for drive and it should go back to normal after 15 min or so.

Yea it hasnt idled to bad after that but the performance still sucks and it smells like raw gas and the carbon spitting out. Idk, i guess its just not what it used to be

As I mentioned in your other post, you have no need for 7ES plugs, so switch to a set of NGK BPR6ES's and see if that clears up a few problems. Gap them to .028". Also, if you have that 255lph pump in your profile installed without an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator, you're going to be running rich. That will also cause a few problems that you described.

Still running like crap? Is this the EBAY intake that resembles the injen one, comes with the pipe and filter?

The intake/filter SHOULD NOT be the problem if it was installed correctly. In your other thread I mentioned that I installed one of those on my uncle's car and it runs great and is faster. So being as its an ebay intake shouldn't be relevant, again if it was installed properly, and there was no defect on it. And when I mean defect, how much can be wrong with a pipe and filter? Maybe a big hole on the intake pipe. But obviously you would have caught that.

Is your BOV recirculated? You might be running super rich with that walboro 255 with no FPR. Which causes sluggish-ness. You didnt mention if you had an FPR or not. I remember when I didn't have any tuning device and had a walboro 190, it ran like crap, later to find out it was running super rich. It would spit out fuel, etc. Why it doesn't happen with the stock filter/pipe? I don't know, it seems like after the addition of the filter/pipe which gets better/more airflow, is affecting the system some how. I don't know what else it could be, it shouldnt be as complicated as it seems right now unless there is something else wrong.

Good luck!
