Well after doing some search on HKS stuff on EBAY, it looks like they now have a knock off of the $400-500 HKS Racing Type II BOV.

Has anybody used this yet? I would have been the test dummy for it, but this must be recent because a few weeks back when I ordered my hks ssqv knock off (which works great btw at 22-25psi) this was not yet available.

I wonder if it works as good as the real one.. or as good as the hks ssqv knockoffs.. hmm, who wants to test it out..

dont waste your money on the china stuff, unless you plan on upgrading the internals with real HKS parts. It will only last you about 2 weeks before it starts getting stuck. Their exact copies so you can just buy the replacement parts from hks, then youll have the real thing! or save yourself the hassle and buy a real hks

I see you have no experience with the knockoffs. If you do a search on the HKS knockoffs, you will see that there are numerous good reviews on them. I actually run one myself. If you also do a search you will see pictures and comparisons of the knockoff and if memory serves me right, because of the design of the HKS ssqv, there are less parts to go bad if any, compared to the greddy type S knockoffs. People have boost tested it (the hks ssqv knockoff) 20+ psi with no problems. I myself run this with my 50 trim setup 22-25psi 40lb/min no problem.

So again do you have any personal experience with these?

With the success of the SSQV knockoff, I figure this maybe another good option. Of course the success of these knockoffs depends on the people who risk being the first ones to test them. I have contributed with the positive reputation of the now proven XS/SS Autochrome FMIC kit for the 2g, and ebay injen intake kit for 2g, and the ssqv knockoff, theres just a handful of us who like to show everybody that quality can be affordable also. But again only time and testing will tell. Not bad for 3 in a row of successful knockoff products though.

Also your method might work for those like yourself who are skeptical with the knockoffs. Being as the authentic retails for $400+ brand new. And the knockoff version can be had <$100, I'm sure if people are worried they can replace it with authentic hks parts, and still land way below the price of the real one.

i sure havent and I wont even try them, not worth the risk. I know a main distributor of those parts and they get 10-12 returns a week on those china bov's, that includes the greddy ones also. they get even more returns on the wastegates. They say its ok because they sell tons of these so a few returns is not a big deal to them. its insane. sorry, Just my preference.

I havent had experiance with the knock offs but you said they get 10-12 returns a week well if they sell so many isn't that a pretty good number. seems like your saying 95% of the costomers are happy?

LOL, how many people have you heard return a greddy or hks for a defect? i havent. im sure they get returns but sheesh 10-12 a weekx52 weeks is a crapload of crappy bov's.ROFL

china parts=buy at your own risk!

Thanks for posting, RedTurboEclipse. I like to keep up on my BOV-news. If you find any sound clips let us know. I'd like to hear that bad boy. (The real one)

People need to think beyond the little world they live on. These rip off's hurt the car industry as a whole and even though they may work fine I wouldn't buy these parts for any reason. I will stick with the tried and true.

Although these products may hurt the original manufacturers, many of us don't have the money to shell out $300 for a bov. Maybe we need to save the money for rent, insurance, or family. So we buy the knockoffs that have a high percentage rate of working for a fraction of the price and save the rest for what we need. Is that so wrong?
Also, bootlegs have always been around and they'll probably stay for awhile and if the knockoffs weren't made, we'll go after the next cheapest thing, probably an evo bov.

I would like to hear how your knockoff sounds too.
