ok i got a new turbo back exhaust on my car and now i hit 20psi with stock fuel pump and i hit fuel cut so i am going to buy a walboro 255hp fuel pump will that be safe running 20psi on stock internals and will my injectors need upgraded too?

You could get by with a rewired 190. With the 255 you MUST have an AFPR.

You will need bigger injectors. I would recommend around 650cc and a way of controlling them.

Get a datalogger and do a search on "boost creep".

What are your goals for the car?

right now i just want to get as much out of the stock injectors as i can i dont really want to buy a afpr i dont know how to use one and i have already ordered the 255hp

If you are going to put in a 255, you have to have an AFPR. It will overflow your stock FPR. Do a search on it for more information.

I would suggest trading it in for a 190, unless you have high goals for the car, then I would get the AFPR.

Just a fuel pump isn't going to give you what you need to run 20 psi. You will need injectors and a form of controlling them. You will also need a logger so that you can watch for knock while tuning your fuel system.

All of the things stated are a MUST and can not be overlooked unless you want to ruin your engine.

You can do a search on "Boost creep" and maybe taking some of those steps will allow you to get that turbo back down to a safe PSI.

Can you get the car to hold lower boost. Your just going to kill your motor at 20psi without a tune. No more than 15psi without a tune and that could still be dangerous. Like he said get a logger and also some time of fuel control or your going to say bye bye to your motor.

The fact of the matter is, you can do it a few times..but it is not safe and you will detonate your motor. Everyone has seen people do something crazy or pull off some amazing run with low mods, but those are just anomalies...

If you want to run consistent and maintain driveability, and keep your motor..Get some bigger injectors, a 255 lph, an AFPR (which is very easy to use, dont be scared), and a method of tuning. Then with proper maintenance, you will be able to run 20 psi

well it shoot right up there i have a 16g turbo ported and i have a 02 dump and full vrs turbo back with no cat and i hit 20 psi quick it holds at 20 for a while then it makes a loud boom and cuts out for a while?

Fuel cut for sure.

Turn down the boost, get some bigger injectors and a better fuel pump and then run 20 psi. I'm surprised you haven't trashed it yet running that kind of boost. Most people typically don't run over 15psi on stock fuel with a 16G. Might want to get yourself a logger as well so you can see what's going on. If you can't control the boost and it creeps, don't lay into it until you have the right mods.

Yep thats for sure my brother bought his car when he was 15 and we didnt know shit about these cars. He had a td04 turbo on his car and ran 18psi for about a year without any mods or tuning. Knock for sure. After he got the logger and we learned about knock we saw he was damaging his motor like crazy. He now has 300whp on the same internals and has owned the car for 5 years and it still has good compression.

Get bigger injectors and get something to control them like a logger or something.... fuel pump won't stop the fuel cut. The stock injectors can only handle like 14psi.

i thought a stock dsm fuel system could run 15-16 lbs ( or is that after you get the fuel pump? )

It not an issue of pressure, it's an issue of airflow. 15psi on the T-2small isn't going to yeild the same airflow as 15psi on a 16g. You need to look at airflow numbers and then calculate what fuel delivery system is needed to sustain that flow. But, you can't look at airflow without a logger. :thumb:

it could be done with a 255hp fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator and if you dyno tune other then that i would say dont try it ,you will need a logger or afc to check for knock ,im at 24psi stock internals and injectors, so im sure you could do 20 if you know how to tune it right

If you want to do it right, turn the boost down. If you want to kill your motor - keep it where it is.

Don't skimp out because in the long run it'll cost you WAY more money than it would have to buy an S-AFC and some injectors.
