i just installed a kormex LSD in my fm5 FWD tranny on my 3000gt. i know that the FWD trannis and the DSM FWD tranny is almost identical. i have it back in the car and i can get into almost every gear with the car sitting except 3rd and 4th and really hard to put in gear. the hisfter is in nuetral but if i start the let out the clutch while the car is on the car tries to move forward. i am completely dumfounded as to why it would do this. could this happen if i put thje 5th gear assembly on wrong? any tips /suggestion would be greatly appreciated. i really hope the solution doesnt involve me pulling the tranny out again. :(
thanks again

how good of shape was the tranny in when you got it newe or used? and to answer your question about the tranny you will probably have to pull it.

dont pull anything yet...did you install a different clutch?

whats happening is your not completly engaging the clutch...thats why you can get it in or out of any gears while the car is on.

i know with most cars there is a adjustment you can do at the top of the clutch pedal inside the car...if its out all the way you may want to try and lengthen your slave cylinder rod to give you a little more throw on your fork

I'm gonna have to agree with the above, with the exception of the clutch is not fully DISengaging. It should be adjusted, because it's probably engaged all the time. That would explain your symptoms. It's definitely the best place to start. The Master cylinder at the pedal. But, if you didn't change the clutch... I don't know what to tell you.

ok i dont think i explained it right. While the car is running when the clutch is pushed in i can put it in any gear pretty easily but even whn the shifter is in the nuetral position when the car is on if i start to let out the clutch the car will try to move forward.
does that make more sense now hopefully?
the only thing i did was install the Kormex LSD
