Exhaust/ intake/ i/c piping

So I hope this question isnt to dumb but why is all this so expensive, doesnt it seem like you could take a drive down to your local muffler shop by some tubing and do it yourself with the proper tools? you would have any restrictions this way.

You just answered your own question, yes you can do it all yourself and save a lot money. Some people just don't want to take the time, are afraid to do it themselves, want something that will bolt right up, etc...

If you have the abilitiy and the time to do it all yourself, then go for it and save some money for other mods.

Guess its not a huge deal, but if you buy your exhaust, IC pipes, etc. from an aftermarket parts company, the piping will most likely be mandrel bent. If you do it yourself, it won't be. Unless you have a mandrel bending machine lying around (I don't). Regardless, I do agree with you... all those aftermarket exhaust systems, IC pipes, and intakes are overpriced.
