starting problem

ok everytime in the morning after the car is off for a while i go to turn on my car and it takes about 10 seconds or less of crank to start the car. but the n after that itll start up just fine any suggestions? thanx

Sounds like the battery is going. I'd change it if I were you just so you don't find yourself stranded one of these days...

It may reveal the correct voltage on testing but the CCA or CA are probably going.

I'd have to agree. It sounds like the battery to me. Take it to AutoZone to get it check for free.

If it's cranking just fine and not firing for the first start, I wouldn't say it's a battery. Sounds to me like you've got a bad check valve in the fuel pump, causing your fuel pressure to leak back into the tank while it sits for a while. If this is the case, you're gonna need a new pump.

Or a leaky fuel pressure regulator.

Sounds like a cocked/damaged o-ring on the fuel pump end of the fuel feed line. Won't hold fuel pressure while the car's off for long (supposed to stay at ~15-20psi even while off). That or the FPR isn't holding the pressure, and is letting it go through the fuel return line.
Feel advantaged, your car gets a little longer to lube itself up in the morning before it has to turn over and go to work.

(Seems to be a pretty common thing on 1Gs. Same thing started happening to mine after I installed my AFPR.. was considering wiring in a 'prime' switch when I rewire the pump, just run it for ten seconds or so to get fuel back into the rail/up to pressure, then start it up. Rather have the extra oil in the morning though.)
