i searched and couldnt find anything on this, i know the torque spec that the pressure plate to flywheel is 15ft/lbs but is the pressure plate supposed to be tight up against the flywheel because there is a little space in between where the flywheel and the pressure plate on my car. is this normal or are they supposed to touch

I think I know what you talking about. When I did my clutch I thought the same thing. As you start to tighted the pressure plate bolts it will start to squeeze against the the flywheel and there should be no space just start torquing them down evenly.

Are you using bolts or studs? I bought the pressure plate studs and nuts for my son's car, however, after reading other posts from people that tried to use them (and had the same problem you are describing), I just used the stock bolts.
