:talon: :laser: :dsm: Hello fellow DSMers, I am asking for others advice on my next purchase for my particular setup... I love the way it rides, smooth and agile. I love the power behind it, and I love the look of it.... I am not trying to go and Ecipse convert it, I love originality, such as the rare gem called a Talon... That is the whole reason why I got a Talon not an Eclipse... I keep asking myself though, "Is it time for a new turbo, or a new something?" Any and all suggestions are open... I am in the process of getting new pics and updating my mods list, the fuel system is being done now, as well as a FM and custom piping, so none of those suggestions.... :thumb:

How much are you looking to spend? Turbo-kits.com has some good turbo upgrades if thats something you might wanna check out.

I agree. If you are doing your fuel mods now then that would be a good step to take. I went with a AFCII and hate it. I ended up spending about the same amount of money when you factor my logger into the picture which Link can do on it's own.

Definately go with it if you need some type of tuning system.
 
1gGstKid: He already has an evo3 and will soon have all supporting mods except a tuning device to jack the boost up. He's at 210whp now, but he will be able to go way higher with a good tune. That's why I say DSMLink.
 
Its really low for the mods that you have. Can you update the profile then if its not?

But then again did u tune it?
 
Well how much hp do you want to get. Is this car gonna be used only for autox or sometimes at the track. I say if your going for a guick spooling hard hitting turbo for autox take a look at something ball bearing like PTE BB 50trim.
 
My bad guys. The horse and torque numbers are the only thing I can rate my car at, the stock specifications.... I know with my mods it should be rated higher, but they dont have any AWD Dynos here in NC, any that I know of.... I am from Indiana, and I know for a fact they have a lot there, but none here... I know the numbers could be at least 400+, but I cant test it yet.... I know it runs mid 12's easily, and that was before my engine and head were done, along with my suspension mods... It is going to be used for DD and auto crossing, some track, maybe, just for 1/4mi times... At least 500 whp and 500 ft-lbs tq, at least, and I know I am close to that goal... How is the 50 Trim? One of my buddies has it on his SRT-4, he loves it, but what else?

I do have the tuning device, DSM Link and all my necessary gauges and my tuning devices, except for fuel, but like I said, I am in the process of getting all of that done...

Untill you get some injectors such as 650s you are not pushing much over 250whp if even that.

As for time/speed in the 1/4 mile you might do low 13's atm.

With the mods I have which are kinda simular to what where you are going I am sitting at 300-325whp.
 
Yeah, I am getting 750's, just in case I want to grow later on. Along with a AFPR, and a Fuel pump, plus the fuel rail too.... Before it had a 190, 650's, and a b&m FPR and it ran a 12.79, with the old owner, and he didnt have the turbo nor some of the mods that I have put on it now, so yeah, I know it will do that or better.....
 
something seems fishy if the previous owner was runnign 12.7 in the 1/4 with stock injectors. Theres no way :confused:

You do not need to upgrade the fuel rails. That is perhaps the one component of the stock fuel system that is actually up to par when it comes to making big numbers. Plenty of people have made more power than you're looking for on the stock fuel rail.

If you're looking to ever make more than about 350 whp on pump, then without a doubt get either a 255/255hp or a Supra pump and an AFPR.

I'd also have to suggest some sort of upgraded intercooler be it a MKIV Supra sidemount or a FMIC of some sorts.
 
Ive heard the Forced Performance Green 50 trim is the best bang for the buck 50 trim you can get, i plan on upgrading to one of these in the future. Myabe you should take a look at one of those.
