I have my engine out on an engine stand right now with the intake and exhaust manifolds removed along with the timing belt. I started trying to get the heads studs out with a 3/8 inch ratchet with a 13mm socket. Pushing on it extremely hard, the socket slipped a notch around the stud. (rotated about 60 degrees without stud moving) I tried another two more and the same thing happend. The 13mm socket fits on to the stud tight. I dont know what is causing it to slip. It is a high quality socket. Any ideas? Anyone ever had seized head studs? I tried spraying it with degreaser to get the oil out so it wouldnt slip. They dont have some strange reverse thread do they?

Good question . Try Pb blaster . Breaker bar , with longer pipe for leverage . Use a 12 point socket like asked above .

good call. Looking at the bolt closer it looks like its made for a 12 point socket. The six i was using just kept slipping.
