Ok, first off, i tried to order two different $60 range boost controllers, one was lost in the mail and the other was never sent, so i got fed up and got a $19, spring and ball type (cheepo) anyways, it comes in today, i get excited LOL and go put it on, (hook the top on to the hose off my j-pipe and the bottom one to the pipe off my wastegate, is that correct?) I took the other hoses that came off and went to the thing on the top of my aircleaner and just set them aside where my SMIC is, then i just zip-tie it to one of the plastic pieces on my radiator fan, i figured that would be the coolest part to hook it up to, cause everything else gets HOT around that area, is there a better place to mount it? Next, i go test it out, first off, my boost guage goes a bit crazy, weird lag and only goes up to about 10psi and stops, so i stop open the hood, hear a weird crackling sound coming from around manifold/turbo, so turn the screw in a bit, try it again, my boost guage don't show any vac this time and still only goes to 10psi ( i used to get around 13psi before the MBG) so i stop yet again, turn the screw in even more, try it out, still weird boost guage activity and still only shows 10psi??? so i get home, take it out and hook the normal setup back up, so i don't hurt anything... am I doing something wrong here?

is this how you have your mbc hooked up?

Don't T into your BOV line. Where it says BOV on the picture, run a line from there to the J-pipe.

Also, the WGA won't let you go any lower than a certain level. The stock 2g WGA is around 9psi, but I'm not sure about the 1g. If you loosen the MBC spring all the way (not so far as it falls apart), you'll still probably boost around 8-10psi. Make sure you know which direction to turn the knob to up the boost. Some models up boost when loosening the knob. What I did was loosen mine the whole way and blow through the end that goes to the j-pipe and make sure it leaks, then tighten it up a bit and blow again. Eventually, you won't be able to blow through it, and you know you're turning it the right way to up the boost. Also, there will be a small hole in the MBC to vent air. That will be on the WGA end of the MBC.

Some other things to consider: keep the lines as short as possible. This decreases boost spikes. Also, keep the lines away from the fan blades. I have mine mounted on top of my radiator fan shroud zip tied to some split-loom, and I cut the lines just long enough to reach where they had to but no longer, so there's no slack to swing into the fan.

EDIT: oldman's "T into the BOV line" radar went off and he beat me to it.

it was just a general picture to see if he had the right idea, the "teeing the bov line" can also mean a pressure source off the intake manifold, or j-pipe/ turbo nipple. it was just the 1st pic i stumbled across searching on tuners, sorry i wasnt trying to spread bad information.
