alright i have a 1990 eclipse base 1.8l with like 170000 miles or so, just recently the transmission seems to be acting weird, this is what it is doing:
when you take off everything is good, when it hits proper rpms it goes to shift to second, when it does this it KICKS and the front left tire SQAUKS, it then goes to third fine, sometimes when you drive the car and go to slow down and then take off again it will continue to stay in third or second so it has like no getup(even less than it has when it is working fine)

so basically i am wondering if this is a bad transmission, or an easy fix?

any suggestions, or comments would help greatly...i am trying to get this fixed if possible, so that my friend will buy it from me because other than that the car is in pretty good shape (clean interior, good body, motor sounds good, etc.)

sounds like a slipping tranny meaning that thing sounds shot but im no expert on drivtrain stuff like that deff sounds bad though
