ok, after a year and a half of waiting for my car to be done, i had it back for 2 and a half weeks and i either threw a rod orr spun a bearing. i know this cars are nototious for problems so im not mad really, plus i look at it like this when your into racing when your car runs it runs and when it doesnt it doesnt point blank LOL. but anyway im here to ask if anyone can offer some advice on where to get a block from? it can either be a reman used or from bushur or something. and if at all possible what else do i need for a 6 bolt swap besides the block. i.e sensors flywheel? thanks for the help guys your never seem to disapoint!

If you spun a rod bearing all you have to do is a rebuild, no need for a whole block. When I spun my #2 rod bearing I replaced the crank, rods, pistons, and had the block sent to a machine shop and bored out to .20 over just to make sure the cylinder walls were nice and smooth. About a $1,200 rebuild. I don't know about a thrown rod, I've never come across that problem yet. As for what's need to do a 6 bolt, 6 bolt swap.

Whats making you believe you through a rod or bearing. What are the cars symptoms. You said after 2 years of getting it done. Did you do a rebuild already? I would be mad our cars have problems but one is not throughing a rod or bearing for no reason.

thanks for the quick replies guys. jay whats making me think that is when i turn the car on i can hear the loud knock coming from down around the block and as i rev it it gets louder. i had a mechanic look at it and they said the same. so im not excatly sure but thats what it seems like it could be. as far as having it rebuilt, i had a brand new crank, bearings, eagle rod, wiseco pistons, all gaskets, oil pump, water pump ect put in and it took like a year and 3 months. im just lost on what to do, i just had all this stuff done and the cars down again. what would be the best thing to do??

It sounds like something was wrong in the orignal rebuild. Tear it back down and look at it and go from there or post and tell us what you see. I had my DSM down all last year, I know the pain.

What kind of racng were you doing? 9000 rpm, shifts?
If you rebuilt this sucker, it should last you another 100K miles.
Unless you turned the boost up? What did you do in 2 1/2 weeks?

If you blew a rod threw the block, yup, you need a new one... The other guys can probably tell you better where to get one...
