My clutch system as a whole decided to take a dump on me this morning on the way to work. Fluid is all gone, and it left a nice puddle under the car. The weird part is that it is coming off of my transfer case. It IS clutch/brake fluid from my clutch system. After pushing the clutch in multiple times it got worse and worse and worse and now just feels like its not doing a thing.

My question is: Has anyone that had to replace the master or slave cylinder had the leak coming off of their transfer case, and in my case it is coming off of the road race lower brace I have.

I could not find fluid anywhere near the master cylinder, inside the car, or anywhere along the line. i traced the line from slave to master cylinder, and there was no visible fluid. Just for info I have a stainless line.

I am thinking slave cylinder right now, but I would like to hear anyone else's opinion too. Thanks.

Well on the 1g the slave is on the front under the motor so If it was leaking there it would not beable to hit the transfer case. The line runs up kind of over the transfer case so make 100% sure its not the line. Because if it was the slave or master the fluid would not hit the trasnfer case as the case is further behind.

On 2gs the slave is also on the front bottom part of the trans. The thing that leads me to believe it is the slave is because support bar that the front motor mount is connected to is right under the slave cylinder, and it leads right back next to the transfer case. I'm thinking that it is all leaking out of the slave onto the crossmember and then onto surrounding pieces, panels, etc.

I've decided I'm gonna replace the slave cylinder first and try to bleed the line and see what happens.

Did you check the thin metal lines that go along the firewall, the lines go from the brakes and slave cyl. thats the only spot that I can think of the could break and leak on to the t-case.

Yep thats what I would check is the metal lines on the fire wall. IF you get a new slave make sure you buy an oem unit. Ive used some auto part store ones and after having it on my motor for a few months the boot was already breaking. Crappy boots.

Checked it out, it was the slave cylinder. It was leaking onto the crossmember below it and running down past the transfer case. I replaced it temporarily with a used one from a friend and ordered a new OEM master and slave.
