I recently bought my dsm and I completely forgot to ask the previous owner which turbo he had in there, so I assumed it was a 14b because a dsm guru told me so, but I wanted to make sure, hopefully its a 16g.

The turbo says t0511 on the compressor housing, could it be a 16g? or is it a 14b, I ordered a camera so I can take pics soon, but if anyone can tell by the label ### let me know. thanks

00ps, it mustve been a H, 11 does look like an h LOL.

Take off the intake tube and look at the blades on the compressor wheel, if there stepped it's a 16g if there all the same it's a 14b.

what do you mean by stepped? you mean if the blades are different??

If I take a pic of the wheel would you know what it is?

td05h is only the designation of the compressor housing. There should be a series of other numbers on the housing as well. There are a couple that are actually stamped/etched into the metal that will tell you what turbo it is.

The blades on a 16g wheel go "high low high low high low"

This is a 14b....

ok thanks guys, I will check tomorrow forsure what kind it is, either way I will be upgrading to 50 trim, just wanted to know which one I had so Id know how much id get for it when I sold it, now how do I tell the difference between the b16g and a small 16g

You can tell the 16g's apart by the numbers on the compressor housing.

49178 - 01520 = Small 16G
49178 - 01420 = Big 16G
49178 - 01470 = EVO III 16G
