I found this connector just laying unplugged today. Did some nosing around, but i couldnt manage to find anything for it to connect to. Plug is located over by the air box.

EDIT:
It's not the back up switch or the coolant switch. Both of these are plugged in, and the wires do not allow the plug to extend that far.

The wire colors are:
Green/White stripe
Black/White stripe

A sensor ON the coolant overflow bottle?
Weird. I don't have one at all.

There is a sensor on the bottom of the tank. But this is not where that plug goes.

I'm stumped

Try the backup light switch on tranny. What color wires does it have? Black/white and red/blue is that switch.

I looked through my manual and I think I found it. If the green/white is really a green/yellow (faded?) then it appears to be the A/T fluid temp sensor connector (for cars that have A/T).

Perhaps it might be faded. I didn't really get a good look at it (was dark outside).
So then, I'm assuming the M/T cars still have the plug, even though the sensor isn't there.

Does that sound right?

My 420A has a plug that looks exactly like that and it is on the drivers side of motor and is zip tied up to the core support of the radiator. Not plugged into anything and I wasnt able to find one on the passenger side. I dont know what it is though.

Same on mine, I believe it's for the fogs on our cars but since that's a 420A and you're a 4g63, I belive that might be the plugs for your reverse lights. Do your reverse lights work? I know the plug for mine is exactly like that and on top of the tranny.

I am beginning to think it is this.
It is none of the other things stated.

I looked all over my 95 GSX for a plug like that, or even a wire-loom bundle that came from that direction. And I just almost posted that I couldn't find one....

Then I went back out to the garage and looked in the most unlikeliest of spots and found a plug that looks EXACTLY like that. The wire colors are different though. I'm not saying that it definitely IS, because it would have to be a stretch to get that plug to where I think it goes, but it might be... your horn. I pulled my horn connector apart and the male plug is the same size and shape, and even has the ridged blue rubber seal around it. All the other plugs I saw in the area where yours is are too large or square to be that plug.

So.. check your horn, just to make sure.

Edit: Had my camera out for something else and decided to take a pic for comparison.

My 98 has a second OEM horn for the "security" system.

I recently had to replace the "real" horn and during the trouble shooting process I found out the car came with 2 horns, one for the true horn actuated from the steering wheel, and one for the security system.

Might want to do a little research and see if your car had the security system from the factory and someone might of just removed it.

Everyone naturally assumes that one horn works both, I know I did.

I DO have the factory alarm/security system. I have set it off before, so I know that horn also works.
I am beginning to think it is for timing, maybe, but not sure.
I think I am going to enlist the help of my Uncle, since he know's how to work on cars AND he's an electrician.

I checked my friends 98GST, and he did not seem to have the plug.
