Hi, I currently have a ACT 2900 with a street disc. It has started to slip on me when i run anything over 550 hp " around 450-500 ftlbs" . I was thinking about putting a 6 or a 4 puck disk in place of the street disk. Do you guys think this would do the job? What other options do I have? How streetable would it be? I do not want to spend the money on a twin plate. Thanks, Mike

First of all - Bravo on getting a 2900lb clutch to slip on a FWD. I ran a six puck unsprung on a 2600lb pressure plate and i couldn't get it to slip (mid 300hp), but if your tranny is fwd and stock, it won't last. The six puck ate my tranny pretty fast and from talking to others, the fwd trannys die pretty easy with a puck clutch.

If your tranny lasts, it's not a bad street clutch, once you learn how to take off without burning out.

good luck

Spec makes a Stage 3+ clutch that holds 500 ft/lbs of torque. That would probably be what you need. It's a full faced disc too.

Their Stage 5 clutch is supposed to hold 610 ft/lbs, but they say the engagement is too harsh for street driving.
