2G-specific Question about timing trigger plate and crank sensor???

I just got a new timing trigger plate (Circular plate with notches that sits behind crank pulley.) and a new crank sensor.

My question is this:

Is the timing trigger plate supposed to pass through the opening on the crank sensor? Or sit underneath it?

thanks!

The trigger plate passes through the crank angle sensor.

Do NOT bend them. Be gentle.
