i just found a place with walbro 255's for like 92 bucks shipped, and that includes the dsm install kit :) hopefully it doesn't take forever to get here...

i am looking for an apex-i super afc, 660 injectors, and an adjustable FPR. does anybody know of some places with good deals on this stuff?

also, has anybody here upgraded from a 16g or a big 16g to say, a 20g? i know the differences between turbo's, but was trying to figure out the difference in spool time. i love my 14b because it's fully spooled at 2500rpm (which is SWEET) but know it won't push the boost i intend on pushing. i would like to run 18-20psi on the street, but capable of pushing 25psi on race gas (an alky injection system is also in the works LOL would a big 16g do this? just trying to decide which way to go... i know a 20g would be best but im scared of it taking forever and a day to spool up, ESPECIALLY compared to my 14b, where i sneeze and i'm full spool!

If your very worried about this then just go for a big16g. I have a big16g and run 18psi on the street and it gets full boost at about 3150 and hold no problem to redline. At the track my 16 holds 23 psi no creep or fall off at all all the way to redline and gives me mid 12's:D
Ive been in a 20g car before, but it wasnt a very good example as it didnt have correct supporting mods at all. If you hae the proper supporting mods or even ones the arent needed but help, Im sure full boost @ 3400-3500 is obtainable with a 20g. 16 is nice cause its almost as quick as a 14b but has much more topend, and hold boost in between shifts also (considering your not slipping the clutch the whole time;)
 
wow... 3500 is quite a bit more lag than i was looking for... i know nothing bigger will spool as fast as my stocker, but would like to minimize the lag :) do you think a big 16g be capable of holding 25psi? does the big 16g require an external wastegate, or does it have one built in? i know eventually i will end up getting one anyways, but would like to save the few hundred bucks temporarily until everything is set up and tuned properly. what spool up mods do you have on your 16g? i have a ported 2nd gen exhaust mani, ported o2, and 3" turbo back exhaust... i'm thinking that's about as free flowing as it's gonna get ;)

any and all 16g's work very well with internal gates, and I dont know of many that are ran without them. I have a ported 2g manifold, extreme 3" o2 housing/eliminator w/3 "turbo back w/ test pipe. Ported turbo as well, so Im pretty flowing as well. I get 18psi at about 3100 rpm whcih is pretty dang good. Maybe you should consider somethng like the L1R from AGP or something, id be willing to bet it spools quicker than a 20g any day. Im think that my big16g can hold 25 psi, I dont know about how much more than that though. And Im sure you knw already, but just cause it holds that much doesnt mean itll make more power. I think 23 psi is about what this turbo should max at:thumb:
