I've been doing a lot of reading on this site and reading posts and posting my own. I'm actually learning a decent amount fairly quick. I've come to realize that before i slap on a bigger/better turbo i should do ALL the supporting mods to make it the most efficient. My question is how much of a difference will a FMIC make on a stock engine with intake and exahaust and not much else. I know it will be worth it down the road if i go with a 16g later. But how much will it effect everything now?

Since i know youll probably get that turbo on sooner than you think, i say put the fmic on now. Its not going to hurt you thaaat much. It will however be waiting for that new turbo when its time comes.

On a stock turbo with no fuel mods, you should not be running more than 15-16psi. Your stock intercooler will work fine for 15psi of boost. It won't be worth down the road with a 16g either if you just have intake, exhaust, turbo and FMIC. You need other supporting mods - mostly fuel mods - pump, injectors, logger and SAFC/MAFT before you turn the boost up to a level that will heatsoak your stock intercooler. I suggest that you check the 2G Tuning guide for ideas on how to upgrade your parts. http://www.dsmtuners.com/tuning-guide/2gturbo/

ok, i have the same setup as you<almost> the only thing about putting a fmic on before a turbo is that the wimpy t25 barely pushes enough air for the stock ic. lengthening the route will slow the airflow down. do like me and put a turbo on first then fmic right before you do your fuel mods.

An FMIC is not required on any 16G variant. If you wanted to stay more stealthy, you can upgrade to a large sidemount (DejonTool) when you add a larger turbo. In addition, you could even run an EVO III on a sidemount with a water injection setup to cool the intake charge and have minimal pressure drop while maintaining excellent cooling capacity. If you decide that you really want a front mount, follow the advice above and buy it when you have the larger turbo and supporting fuel mods in place. It's a waste on a T25 and will cause too much pressure drop to be effective right now.

Kyle - I used to run a FMIC with a T25. There's not much to gain when using the T25. You are going to want to follow this tuning guide pretty close (the link that DGajre777 posted above). Even if you upgrade to a 14b or small 16g, you wont need a FMIC, but there are alot of supporting mods that you will need. A good rule of thumb is that you wont need a FMIC until you are to the point where you are upgrading your injectors.
