Just finished the install today. Took two weekends since this was my first one. In my defense, I work from 4 till 1 am and I like sleeping till 3pm. I only did this to test and tune a little. I only needed the car running so I can get it to an actual garage and not do any more of the work in the cold, lying on the ground. Another reason it took so long...I spent more time in the shed in front of the heater than under the car. ROFL

Now, notes on my current setup: I am running a small section of STOCK exhaust where the downstream O2 sensor is. This is being replaced. I have not done a boost leak or compression check yet. I WILL. This is all preliminary. :thumb: Current mods:

Stock 450cc injectors (650cc's will be here Tuesday)
Stock Fuel Pump (190lph is sitting next to me)
Stock SMIC (FMIC is laying against the wall w/ its 2.5" piping)
3" Dejon Tool Intake w/ K&N Filter
The T04B V-trim of course...
2.5" Dejon Upper Intercooler piping
1g BOV
PCV Breather Filter
8mm Accel Race wires
NGK 6's gapped to .028"
2.5" Downpipe (catless)
2.5" Cat-back to straight-through muffler
Apexi SAFC for fuel management
Autometer EGT Gauge
AC Autotechnic Boost Gauge
PocketLogger on a PalmVx
Sporty new driving gloves

Impressions: This thing is laggy as hell. I'm used to a T-25. However, this thing also didn't feel anywhere NEAR as fast as my old T-25 did. I expected this without having the finishing mods on, but it still came as quite a shock to me. Laggy, slow, and the car is stumbling a bit now. Oh darn. Not sure why yet. New O2 sensor is in place now, so I'm not running PIG RICH anymore. 'Bout time. At least I am running now. I'm surprised that it flowed right at 300 CFM (22.68 lb/min) through the stock intercooler. I read they were limited to around 190. Hm. Well, any questions, comments, curse words are welcome. We'll see where we're at in a few days with the completed setup. I appologize about the length, but I try to be thorough.

You should be able to see more flow then 22 lb/min out of the stock ic. Even with the t25 I saw 25 lb/min but that was maxed out so I don't know how much more you could get outa it, plus I guess you need to worry about heatsoak. When I upgraded the t25 I also switched the ic at the same time.

Yes, I was a bit rich. I turned the settings down a notch or two early this morning, but I didn't do another log. I'll probably do that tonight. Like I said before, this was all just a test run to get a feel for the turbo. I'll turn the boost up another notch or two, till I hit around 25-28 lb/min, but really all this is sorta pointless because when the injectors, fuel pump, and FMIC go on tomorrow, I'll have to do the tuning all over again! :D I'll just chalk it up to tuning practice. I've me another couple days and I'll have...hopefully...some much better results. :dsm:

He's using an S-AFC so your not seeing his real airflow...

Math calculations...and whether or not my car can count properly...aside, there was another problem I hadn't mentioned yet. My engine was missing and idling very rough. Turns out, I hadn't capped off the BOV return tube as well as I thought and it was sucking unfiltered, unmetered air. Stupid, stupid, stupid! I'd been so angry with the car all day long, I never thought to check something so simple. I'll have to take it out again and see if the performance improved any since I've got that little problem fixed. Right after I go out and appologize to my baby for kicking it earlier and promise to never do it again. :dsm:

Man, put on the rest of the supporting mods. You can't expect to see even half of the potential of that turbo without the proper fuel / airflow to back it up.

Did you get a internally or externally wastegated V-Trim?

I picked up a slightly used V-Trim because the previous owner had the same problem. I found that Bullseye's internal waste gate will blow open when the spring tension is set low. I found the best way to eliminate this is to tighten up the actuator until you set your minum boost to what you would like, and then use a boost controller to raise it for higher boost conditions. I'll try to explain better.
When I first installed the vtrim, the boost would hold at about 11lbs. with out a boost controler. But by just increasing the boost with the boost controller and leaving the actuator at low boost, the spring was not tight enough to hold the waste gate flapper shut at higher boost. This created horrible spool up. Then I tightened the actuator arm so the car would boost at 18 lbs without a boost controller.(trial and error) It was a night and day difference, it will now hit 18 lbs around 3900 rpm, better then hitting it around 5000 rpm with the actuator spring loose. And now I just use the adjustable wastegate like a boost controller, and only use a MBC for the track when I want to increase the boost even more. I think that Bullseye's internal gate system is set up for high boost, 18 lbs +, and not meant to be set at a low base position and boost controller adjustment.

I don't know if I explained it well, but I tried. I hope a lot of the guys that are having slow spool with their V-Trims get ahold of this info. I would love to throw an external tial on this turbo and see what it can do without any wastegate blow by issues.

Good luck.

Sorry about not posting or updating in a while. I kinda, sorta wrecked my car on January 1st (crappy New Year's) and still haven't gotten it back from the shop yet. (Ran off the road in a curve, slammed into a curb sideways...long story short, only damage was 3 rims, both side skirts, and a bit of fender damage, but they can't seem to find parts for an Eclipse WTF . But I'm getting all new paint and bigger rims so... :D )

Anyway, the turbo was an internally gated, low pressure actuator. Spool up increased quite a bit once I got my FMIC on. Spooled from a dead stop at around 3900-4000 rpm. I'm sure it would improve more if I had smaller piping (currently running 2.5", NOT short route). Luckily there was no intercooler damage at all. 650cc injectors and a 190lph fuel pump are sitting infront of me collecting dust, so the boost will be cranked up to 15+ psi as soon as I get the car back.

After I buy and install a rollbar. *shuddering at images of a bloodied, pancaked driver*
