I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY YOU WOULD GET A ECLIPSE WHEN YOU CAN GET A DODGE NEON R/T WITH ALMOST THE SAME MOTOR AS THE ECLIPSE BUT BETTER 150 HP VS 140 HP AND PLUS THE NEON IS MUCH LIGHTER AND ITS ABOUT 1/2 THE PRICE!!!!

I got a better one for you. I have a 90 gsx eclipse that will be around 400 hp when I am done and will have less than a fourth of the price of a Dodge rt. It's all where you are at. I prefer the 4g63 in my humble opinion. But not to say the Dodge rt is bad. It's not. What I'm saying, don't knock the other brand till you fully know what you are comparing to and what they are historically capable of.

Please let me know how much you paid for it because i can get a neon sport dohc with 100,00 miles on it for a grand then put a hahns race carft turbo stage 2 turbo for 3 grand
so for 4 grand i can have a 275 hp neon which is not a bad deal. but if I can get a eclipse thats faster for cheaper ill go with that.
Ok would you rather pay 7 grand for an eclipse that looks good but runs 15s or a neon sport or r/t with a hahns craft turbo stage 2 , a 2.4l dohc motor swap, 100 shot of nos forged pistons rods. and racing axle and clutch for 7 grand that runs low 11s and a total sleeper hum thats a hard choice. You would have to pay triple that to get an eclipse to run that fast. And neons dont look that bad after all.

You're a riot and I can't wait for your next post...rock on little dude
Now now, take it easy on fastguy... If he wants a Neon let him have one, he's right though, they do look pretty sweet .... Atleast my great aunt Lola(age:92) seems to think so, since she has one . Let me know when you get it, I'll give her a call and see if she wants to go show off and cruise the town with ya . Besides, does anybody really want a guy like this to be classified as a dsm tuner? Let mopar have 'em and we won't have to see anymore of his ill witted posts .

That's probably the funniest (while still being true) post I've read on here in a long time. Way to go.
Well you can spend that 4 grand on your little neon, but no matter how much money you put into it the thing will always be a neon, just like the new SRT-4s, all they are is a neon with a turbo, i spent 2 grand on my car and i can beat a 2002 wrx with a turbo-back exhaut, intake, BOV, and a chip, so while he is still paying off his car i am putting money into mine, so get your little neon for a grand and buy that cool sounding turbo kit, cause no matter what when you spend that 4 grand just remember i spent half that and you only got me by like 4 horsepower, oh and i still have AWD. that is why i hate neons

OK I'll bite. I gave 500 for a 90 gsx with a bad timing belt. I offered to make run a 99 eclipse rs that some kid put about 2000 worth of stuff on and screwed it totally up, which he promptly traded it to the dealer. I offered this service for free since it was a Ford dealership and they didn't want to mess with it. In return I got a 50 trim turbo, big fmic, apexi safc II, all the gages, whistles and all for nothing. I did buy a manifold, air filter and 2 fuses. I also had to rewire where he hacked all the wiring up. Some solder and shrink tube fixed the rest right up. Selmerguy has seen both cars and can verify. Is this unique? yep, but you wanted a cheap story. I can also get the Falken wheels for nothing if I want them, which I don't as I want to look perfectly stock. I gave the headlights to selmerguy for his as I'm trying to restore it back to stock. Well, except for all those damn stickers everywhere which I am not messing with. I still have some cheap coilovers front and rear I would trade even for stock suspension parts off an rs. How's that for cheap? Good Luck

First off, I used to own a 98 neon R/T with all the bolt ons, and it was still slower in a straight line than my mildly modified gsx, although the handling was a bit better. In regards to your 7k dollar speed demon, lets really consider this:
KBB for a 98 neon R/T with 100k miles: 3,115
Hahn stage 2: 2,995 plus 400 for fmic option to "run low 11's"
Built 2.4l DOHC: Pistons and rods are atleast 800, if not more, plus the cost of the block, and machining, lets say 1800 dollars total.
100 shot Naaaaws: 500
Clutchmasters stage 3 modular: 689
Driveshaft shop stage 3 axles: 999
Phantom grip lsd: 275
Exhaust, underdrive pulleys, bigger throttle body, other bolt ons to complement system: 600
Total: $11,373 and we still haven't touched slicks or suspension, and we're assuming the fuel system included with the hahn kit will keep the car streeteable and be adequate for 11's.
I loved my little R/T when i had it, and it always started up, ran well, handled good, and got 35 miles to the gallon, but it just wasn't designed to be an ass hauler, just like the non turbo eclipses weren't either. I'm not saying it can't be done, but it is a lot more in depth than slapping on a turbo kit and spraying.
