OBD-II Connector in 1995 Eagle Talon

Ok this is my first post, and yes I am a newbie.

I am very confused with my obd connector. I have a completely stock 1995 talon tsi, and under the hood the sticker states "OBD-II certified." Also several (or many) posts on this site confirm that 1995 DSM's are OBD-II. However, everything I have read shows the obd-II connector to be a trapezoidal 16 pin connector. The connector I have near the driver's feet (left of the clutch) has a different look: the top has two rows of 4 pins, and the bottom has two rows of three pins. What gives?

Is there some sort of adapter to be able to connect this to the standard OBD-II plug? Or can I make one myself? Is there a list of pinouts for this type of connector?

You're looking in the wrong place. Look just above your right knee, just forward of the lower dash trim.

All 2Gs are OBDII. They, along with Volkswagen, were the first to adopt it.

and just think they had one of these odb2 testers at adv auto parts for $40 and i passed it up cause all the auto part stores said its for 96+

at autozone they can pull your codes for free on OBD2. they also don't know the talon/eclipse 95s are OBD2. They only go by year...makes sense considering not to many cars were obd2 in 95

Autozone asked me year, I said "its a 95".
he said '' it must be obd2 to use our tester''
I then replied ''my car has an obd2 ecu''. he grabbed tester, came out and pulled my codes

Hey,

I have an Eagle Talon ESI 95 and I read this post about the OBD-II connector. Does the ESI have one? There is a white/cream plastic item under the dash near the driver’s right leg. It is clearly some sort of computer connector, but the guy at autozone seemed to think it wasn’t an OBD-II.

I don’t know a lot about this, so I was hoping you all could help.

Yeah the plug is to the right of the steering column just under the dash, facing upwards. I can plug in this point without looking most the time.

I think I located it. Is it a little black device that is kind of hard to get to? I'm going to run back over to autozone and see if that is it.

Also keep in mind if you have Dsm link there might be a lil black box plugged into your obd-2

It's been answered, but yes the 95's have obd-II. If they ask at the auto store, just say its a 97 or something. The connector should be above the gas pedal, not by the clutch pedal. That might be a different connector.

I believe only the 95 2G turbos used the ODB II
