Whats up with this one sided wear on my Tming belt? Got pics....

How come a majority of the wear is on the left side? What can be casuing this? I just got this car so Im not sure when the belt was done last. If I am going to be getting this belt changed what other performance mods can I do since the machanic will already be working on that side of the motor?

Have you pulled the rest of the timing belt covers off? I would not run the car much if something is causing it to wear like that.

Here is my unique theory of the day... Perhaps the previous owner had the timing belt cover off, and accidently dropped/lost a washer, or small nut in there. Now its lodged up somewhere making contact against the timing belt.... I should become a theorist J/k.

Seriously though, need to get that checked out.

I had an oil pan bolt that was sticking up just far enough to make contact with the timing belt causing wear very similar to that. If i were you i would check it out because my belt snapped about a month ago and the belt was only like 1 year old.

As far as the bolt theory goes I will say this....my front left side shock has been out for a while now.....with that being said I have hit some pretty hard bumps and its sooo hard on my shit... I have also bottomed out pretty hard due to this shock. Could this broken shock have contributed to this belt wear some how and could my botteming out have contributed to this bolt theory? Timing belt jobs are expencive.... GRRRR

I'd say no. I'm with the too-long-sump-bolts-under-the-belt theory.
