I have a 3" RRE downpipe and I am about to receive my 3" Tsudo N1... Both of these have a neck down for the catalytic converter, but I want it to eliminate the cat and have no neck down... I want to weld on some 3" flanges, but I'm curious if anyone knows where to get some for a reasonable price. My RRE I bought used and it has a sleeve clamped onto it that is 3" on one side to accept the downpipe, and on the other side it necks down to accomadate for the smaller flange of the cat. Does anyone know where I can purchase a sleeve that would have an open 3" side and a 3" flange on the other?

Just take it to a typical exhaust shop they usually stock the 3 bolt 3" flange and gaskets. Or you can order the Apex style 2 bolt flange from RRE. then thake those to the exhaust shop and have the weld it up unless you have a welder and experiance.

The shop that installed my TurboBack this weekend did not have the flanges... so they used Silicone... is that bad?

silicon flanges? they wouldn't last a day besides how would they make them adhere to the metal pipes? Metal is about the only thing (feasible) that can hold up. I might believe silicon gasket (even tho it would blow out in a few minutes). running no gasket would be better than silicon. But I see no way of silicon being used on a exhaust.

Well this shop always uses that when the customer does not bring the gasket.

Where do I buy the Evo III gasket (for the exhaust outlet side)? The one I had there with the stock Housing was made of cardboard and it really cant be fitted for the bigger Evo III like the turbo side one which I grinded to fit.

yeah... I looked all over town for a place that sold 3 inch flanges, and I couldn't find any w/o having to special order. So I drew one up on a peice of steel, gave it to my dad, he took it to work and used a plasma cutter and cut it out. welded it on, and used a die grinder to clean up the inside edge of the flange. I then used RTV copper as a gasket.
So if you really have to, you can just fab one up yourself.
