Okay I bought a 96 tsi a while back and the person I bought it from said the oil pressure sending unit was bad. I bought an aftermarket gauge to replace it and this stupid thing is wiggin out all the time. I think it's a peice of crap so I want to hook the stock one back up. My question is, there is a stock sending unit already there but is there supposed to be one or two? if it was bad and there's only one wouldn't it kick a cel for no oil pressure? I'm wondering also if it could be the gauge on the dash? If you can follow my thinking please respond with knowleadge ;)

There are 2 sensors on your oil filter housing. The little black one is for the low oil light on your gauge cluster, and the other bigger one is the oil pressure sender for your dash gauge. Neither one of them will flag a CEL, its just for driver monitoring purposes.

anyone with a digi camera willing to do a dummy a favor and take a picture of these two and label them? my car only has one so I'm wondering which one was pulled out and what it looked like before someone yanked it. I appreciate it greatly. :thumb:

sweet, I really appreciate the help man, a picture is worth a thousand words. They did end up scrapping the other sender. Now I just need to find somebody to sell me one. Thanks again though.
