i'm turboing my 4g64 fairly soon, and i'm getting the tubular o2 housing with the GST downpipe, and i wanted to know where's the best place to mount an EGT sensor and a wideband o2 sensor?

Tap the #1 runner on your exhaust manifold for your EGT Probe and your wideband o2 sensor replaces your factory primary o2 sensor. I'm quite sure searching for this would have told you this. Good luck. :thumb:

Some manufacturers recommend putting your EGT probe after the turbo, because if it breaks off ( I guess it happens sometimes), it won't trash your turbo.
As far as your wide band sensor goes, read the instructions, putting it in the OEM location may shorten the life of the sensor because of the extreme temperatures.

Yes put it somewhere before your cat and the EGT should be fine in the #1 runner on your exhaust manifold, unless your are running super high EGT's all the time. Then you run the risk of it melting off and going through your turbine blades.

because of the cost - alot of people dont like to run a wideband all the time.
So ya may want to weld in another bung somwere near the stock location.
Also if you just wire it to a gauge.. then you will get a CEL after you remove
your stock o2

Cost isn't an issue if you're using the Bosch 6066 or 7057 sensor :thumb: I agree that #1 runner is the best place for an EGT probe, and the WBO2 sensor 15" downstream is pretty standard. If you don't have your cat, the 2nd O2 location would be geat.

i'm gonna feel like a douche for asking this, but i dont have an eclipse: what the hell is a #1 runner? :(

oh ok, that makes sense. so i slap the EGT there, then the wideband sensor 15" downstream, can i remove my primary o2 sensor and splice it into the wideband? because when i get the GST downpipe it doesn't have a bung for my pre-cat primary o2

I left my primary O2 sensor where it was and welded the bung supplied with my AEM kit just behind the flex section of my Buschur exhaust. To weld the bung in it cost me $40 Can. at the most.

For the EGT and Wideband, I would recommend after the turbo.

Have somebody weld you a bung downstream of the downpipe for your WB. I have a handheld wideband so I close this bung when I do not need it/not tuning.
