I bought a car from Boston, and have to register it in PA. Have title, bill of sale, all the other junk. Thing is boston does not offer temp insurance, so i am trying to have the car registered here. The tell me the need to see the car to verify the vin, well how am i suppose to get it there? Women told me i can trace the vin from the vin plate? She expects me to take out my entire dashboard, cuz thats the only way i can get to the metal vin plate. Any idea guys?

Had to do the same thing here in Arkansas.

If your friendly local police are nice enough, they MAY Send someone out to your house to verify the VIN.

Working for the Sherriff's Dept, I didn't have many worries about driving the car to the S.O. and getting the Sgt to look at the vin.

Call them. If it's illegal to drive it, and they have to verify the VIN in order for you to license it, they SHOULD send an officer out to do it at your residence.

When my friend did his car, all he had to do was take a pic of the vin # and show them.
They said they need a trace of the vin or a pic, but a trace only works good on cars with vin numbers that are raised.

If they won't allow a pic, just go somewhere else that does.

I took a pic of the vin number from my motorcycle when I transfered the title. They shouldn't have a problem with it.
