ok i live in florida so the altitute is on my side... it was kinda hot out but there was other stuff working for me....first of all the track has the stickyest track EVER!! OMG i could drop it in 7k rpm and not spin LOL well not that sticky.. ok well i got a 15.6 at 87 mph this is a horrible time i know my freind has a 98 gst and got a 14.9 same setup... its stick ... i usually bring the rpms up to 3.5 and let it out slowly right before my tires start to spin and shift fine all the way though im getting horrible times check out my profile for mods and 60' times and such...

Well obviously track prep wasn't that great if you only did a 2.4 60'. You really need to work on your launch, it's what's holding you back. MPH seems about right for a mostly stock car on a hot day, maybe a little low. Whereabouts do you live anyway?

practice, practice, and more practice. You could probably launch a bit better than 3500, maybe 4-4500, but practice will help improve your launch.

Well I don't know much about FWD since I've never owned one but my friend used to pull some good times in his GST. I'll ask him tomorrow and let you know.

I got a 2.2 60 ft in my talon. I would rev my car to 4000+ to get that 60 ft. You just have to try different things. I noticed that if I shift into 4th I get a better overall time :thumb:

The very best i've done on 60's is 2.4 And if I launch my car somewhat above 4k rpm I will spin without an end.

But looking at your times, you did pretty good but at the top end the car died or something perhaps it produced less power. I live in PR so I dont know if that might have an influence on my times due to the elevation or something, but I'm close to your performance mods ( if any ) and ive run 15.2 as my best .

I just let go at 3.5k rpms and shift at 6.5k the 2 next gears. Theres some little details like lowering the tire pressure which helps a lil bit with the launch, tire warming and such. You do all of that ? :thumb:

Hope that helps a bit

You don't really burn your tires with fwd, it makes them turn into ice. They're different than slicks.

Even if they're low thread-wear tires ?
