Hey guys. I've heard that the Turbo's on A/T are smaller. Is this true. Also, I have a '97 GST {A/T  }, with stock turbo, and was wondering if the T28 is a good upgrade for the 2G. I only plan on going to 350-400 hp, so is the T28 good for that range? Thx guys.

Hey,
The turbo is smaller on Auto 1G's. I dont believe you have to worry about that on your 2G. And as far as the T-28, according to Machv, that turbo is good for about 260'ish HP at the wheels. That would not place you in the HP range your looking for. You may wanna look into a 16G, a big 16g will put you somewhere in the neighborhood of 320 to the wheels. One of th guys there ran a high 11 with a big 16G on a 1G. Hope this helps!

Just make sure you want to stay around the 350-400 hp range. Once you feel power, your gonna want more. 16G turbo is probably the best bet if you want these numbers. Dont forget all the other mods of going with a bigger turbo.

FYI.. im at 269 to the wheels with my Big 28.. thats with basic bolt on, no cams, head work, or anything and only at 20psi non tuned.. the car should be around 315 to the wheels when im done.. which would be around 360-375 flywheel hp :)

hi , i am just wondering of what is the easiest way of tuning an upgraded turbo.... AND the the significance of tuning or a comparison of a well-tuned car and a non-tuned or poor-tuned car.

thanks in advance.
