What is required to do an engine swap?

I have a 1993 Eagle Talon Tsi FWD. I know not that many people like FWD but I got a good deal on it. I wanted to swap the 7-bolt motor out for a 6-bolt motor and wanted to know what was needed. I was thinking of buying a stage 1 race engine from SBR and installing it but it was a short block and I don't know if that is all that is needed to swap the 7 to a 6-bolt motor. Thanx.

Why are you wanting the swap? Please don't say because your worried about crankwalk.

run what you have. your 7 bolt has slightly lighter rods and flywheel which will make it rev faster than a 6 bolt. everything else is the same though so until this one breaks there's absolutely no reason to swap it out until you start clearing the 350-400whp range.
