Speedo doesnt work


My speedometer doesnt read anything. My tach works but not the speedo. The sensor is plugged into the speed sensor so i dont know. I did pull the sensor out so it wouldnt get busted when i took the tranny off and i put it back in and it doeant work. any ideas?

Is your odometer working? If not then obviously it's either the sensor, the connection, or the cable itself. If so, then it could be the speedo is broken.

I would start with checking power at the sensor. Then replace it with a known working sensor. If that doesnt work then it could be the gauge. If it worked before you took the car apart and now it doesnt work then my guess is you messed something up. I would start with the wiring

Wow, very old thread.

But I would change vss and check connections. Happen to my car... and some how it worked by itself again. Weird!
