2G-specific white smoke

when i blew my turbo, { or at least i hope that was the problem} i wouldnt be able to create boost at all. i checked all my connections everything was good. now im wondering if it had something to do with my head gasket. Would a bad head gasket make a turbo not boost, or make a horrid clunking noise when i would rev it up? { the sound of fins hitting the inside of the turbine case.. i hope} has anyone blown a turbo, if so what did it sound like, what smoke did it create. im hoping any shatterd fins didnt get in the engine, but i checked the exhuast side and the fins were almost perfect.
thanks in advance,
Ron

check your oil and if there is any antifrezzed in it then the headgasket is blown.... and there would be a bluish tint in the smoke coming from the exhaust

also check you radiator and overflow tank. if you seen any oil in there that is another sign of a blown head gasket. as far as the white smoke that is usualy a good sign that the head gasket is blown and the klunking could be comming from damaged crank or rod bearings. hope its not too serious good luck

oh yeah of course i have a evo 3 going in now. the clunking noise would only happen when the turbo would try to spool. but the one last time i tried to do it { see if the turbo would spool} it stopped doing it. but yeah i know the turbo is done, shaft play like a joystick. but yeah the smoke was deff white with a blue color. no oil in the coolant, i know becuase when i dropped the radiatior out, i saw all the fluid.. lol. thanks for the reply guys.

My car sometimes blows white smoke its very rare. If i let it idle for a really long time it might blow smoke. I need a new alternator i dunno if that could be the problem, its ###### not im just wishful thinking I dunno its rare though.
