Car died w/ rattling noise

Ok today i went out to dragway 42 ran my car a few times then when i left on the way home about 10-15min. down the road my car stopped spooling it was like a non-turbo car..... i started to hear a weird rattling noise so i pulled over and my car started bogging out....... i revved it up a lil from the throttle under the hood and the noise got louder so i stopped and then it started bogging out and wanted to stall so i shut it off...... sounded like noise was by the timing belt so i took off the cover but it seemed to look ok as in not broken so i got it flat bedded home an hour away which cost me about 130 dollars what can this be any input please
THANX in Advance!!

This sounds like what happened to me, except less extreme. Sounds like an intercooler pipe has worked its way off. Check all your piping and do a leak test anyway just to make sure. The rattling noise you hear could be the loose pipe.
When it happened to me, I was driving and I heard a pop. The car started bogging like crazy, and as I was slowing down to the side of the road, the car just stalls.

Well when an IC pipe blows off, all of the air entering the engine is unmetered, so it runs ridiculously lean, and that causes plenty of knock.

If I had the money I'd use any excuse for a 6-bolt. Good luck with the BS elim Ron, let me know how it goes.
