Thumbs up Free 1.8L Eclipse 5spd near Williamsport, PA (17740), Must be trailer'd out.

Okay guys, I was going to sell it ebay, but I really couldn't justify spending 80 bucks on placing an ad when all I was really asking was about 100 dollars or so, and I was about to call a junk yard to trade them "you take the eclipse away, and don't charge me for towing or anything," but I figured I'd give you guys the first go at it. I'm going to post the specs pretty much verbatim from how I was going to post it in the ebay auction, although any questions can be directed to my Cel Phone (570)974-1786 (My name is Aaron), or you can email or PM me through the forum. Still, I would not object if you wanted to tip me $100 bucks or anything

This car was my baby since Oct. of 2000. Just recently I've had a string of bad luck with it, and I've been focusing my efforts on my 1986 Mazda Rx-7, so this one has to go. It was a good car, and ran well, until the transmission-to-engine bolts started to strip (more on that later). It has been sitting for about three months now, while I debated what do with it.

Engine:1.8L 4 Cylinder, Single OverHead Cam. Engine was replaced with a rebuilt engine ~60,000 Miles ago. Engine runs fine, I have never had any trouble with it. It smokes slightly on startup, but that is likely a esult of not having a catalytic converter.

Transmission: 5 Speed Manual. Transmission shifts smoothly, expect for reverse, it will shift fine into it, but sometimes grinds a bit.
Exterior: Hood damage (hood flew up on me early this year, still dented). Windshield has a crack about 8 inches long on the drivers side. The front turn signal lights are cracked, but easily functional, the rear turn signal tailight is cracked, still fully functional. some small dents and dings, no body rust that I know of. There are no irrepairable dents, execpt for the hood. The passanger door was popped open during a break in, so that has a dent above it. The door jams and engine bay are the original red color. Aftermarket spoiler with brake light is working and included.

Interior: The interior is in rather good shape. The drivers side seat is starting to develop a small hole in the normal spot. Other than that, there are no problems that I know of. The plastics and dash are in good shape, there is no stereo components except for the stock 3 1/2" speakers in the dash.

Wheels: The aftermarket rims are included in the sale, They are not name brand, and two of them have a bit of curb rash, but if you were to clean them up and re-clearcoat, they'd look really good. Two of the tires have less than 3000 miles on them, but the front ones need to be replaced.

Why it's not driveable: In a nutshell, because bolts are stripped. The holes to the bolts that hold the transmission bellhousing to the engine are stripping off, which means that the tranny can't be secured, so every time to you try to start the car or run it, the housing pushes away, putting massive pressure on the clutch, and it burned out the last one in only three weeks.. I still have the receipt for it, I got it at advance auto parts, and they have a year warrenty. Due to this, you can't start the car right now, as there's too much pressure against the flywheel. Well, you may be able to, I don't want to put that mush strain on the crankshaft

Missing parts: The only missing part is the air intake assembly. This includes the filter, airbox and snorkel. These can easily be had at junk yards for cheap, though. That's about it.

Overall: This was a good car to me, and I hope it finds a good home, at least being parted out to help out another DSM I tried to detail everything that I know is wrong with it, although I may have missed something. If you have any questions about it, please give me a call on my Cel phone @ (570)974-1786.

You can view pictures of it @ http://home.pct.edu/~ebeaar09/eclipse/
lemme know if you need any pics of anything else.

MODS I hope this doesn't violate any policy, since I'm giving the car away (not selling it), I just want to give back to the community a bit, instead of a local junk yard!

Good question It was a good car until the clutch started failing on me (due to the transmission problems listed above), and the hood thing (which happened pretty recently). Until then, it never left me stranded or anything, got me through a year out in Phoenix, home, and most of my school here... I will miss it, but I don't have the energy to devote to it anymore..

I'm going to move this up to top for all the thursday night browsers, since I really have to get this thing out of here by Fri, the 16th (unless you'd like to arrange pickup shortly after that, then I can work something out)..

If I only had like an extra week to pick it up I would try and take it for a daily driver.
