1g tsi $1k good deal?

its a maroon 91 tsi awd and it needs a new clutch but the tranny is brand new (id have to put that in)
im gettin it from a friend who bought it from some old lady like two weeks ago and she was the 1st owner, so the 140k on the engine isnt scaring me off too bad
is 1000 a good deal?

'If' the tranny is the only thing that is majorly wrong with it then that's a pretty killer deal... But be sure to check the compression...

the paints a little faded but theres no rust.
