Gents,

I have a customer in VA (Manasas) who purchased a BBK from me for his Merc Marauder. Some shop wants to charge him 5 hours install at $100 per to install this. He told them to pound sand! This kit should take about 2.5-3 total.

I know that there are a couple of you in VA (Scott Willard?) who might be up for helping out a nice guy. And he seems willing to pay a 'reasonable' fee for you help. So...I need a guy familiar with the BSL6 calipers and such to send him too. Anyone?

I live in Manassas. Explain to me exactly what he bought. Is it headers, pulleys, intake???

Big Brake Kit.

Shouldn't be a tough job...if I didn't live way far away, I'd do it :/

Yeah...I'm confused. We're talking the 6 piston wilwood calipers with some big ass rotors and new hubs...plus all the gear to put them in. How come he can't grab a 6 pack and jump on this himself? I can't imagine very man dsm guys are familiar with this exact set up but brakes are brakes.

i can get in touch with him to see what he needs. its an easy job

It's under control thanks.

Why doesn't he do it himself? Called time and money. Some people don't want to spend their Saturday getting dirty in the driveway on a project they don't understand. And they can afford to pay someone else to do it. Call it an age thing. You'll catch on in a few years.

Why post it here? I posted it on a couple of sites. Mostly where folks know the parts by way of working on one of my kits on their own car. Like you said; same parts, different car. Knowledge is king. And I figured a few bucks in your pocket might be something someone here might want as well.

He's got it handled and is happy.

On the other hand if someone here has a shop in the VA area they'd like to use as an install point for kits I'd like to hear from you.

I can do most jobs out in the driveway.
But if he needs a shop I recomment Martin up at The Speedfactor. www.thespeedfactor.com
He just moved into his new shop. Him and his crew do really good work. My car is there right now getting rebuilt. They are working with me on it and Martin is letting me use his place.

I'll make a note of the shop, thanks.

Can't really list private people for work. Too many 'issues' to deal with. Insurance for the customer, safety of both customer and worker, appearances of professionalism etc. But yes, I know there are some private people who are perhaps better qualified too.
