need help tuning

I just bought my dsm about two weeks ago. I had a dsm before but it was completely stock. I recently sold my supercharged mustang cobra because i wanted to go back to a four cylinder. A turbo for a mustang is really expensive and not so much for a four cylinder. I had a SCT tuner for my mustang which was pretty easy to tune with. Now that ive bought my dsm it has a maft, safc2, 3in exhaust, and fmic. Ive read in alot of forums not to tune without a logger. Ive been messing around with the maft and the safc2 but im scared to drive it without a logger. I would pay someone if they would help me tune it or even borrow a logger. The symptoms I have are..runs really rich and sputters when driving. Ive read the guides over and over about the safc and maft but im more of a hands on person. If someone could teach me or show me, it would be greatly appreciated. I will even pay for someone to help me.

Regional forums don't get a whole lot of traffic. =/ Sadly we live in one of the worst areas to own our cars.

Just drop a few bucks on a Logger and go to work.

To me? Sounds like an Ignition timing issue, or you're allowing too much air to flow.
