DSM Grill-Out: 12 Noon @ Boone Sep. 12th

What is the perfect way to spend a September afternoon in Iowa? How about with a bunch of Diamond Star cars, food, fire, and a beautiful State Park? The Ames-based Diamond Star Tuner Association is planning a Grillout on September 12th at 12:00 noon. The location will be Ledges State Park in Boone, IA (just 15 mins west of Ames). This park has some beautiful scenery for some photos and some nice twisty roads for a bit of fun.

There are a few grills at the location already and I will be bringing my own. I will also be providing some food, but I would encourage everyone else attending to bring meat and/or food.

There will be a cruise and quite a few photo opportunities. We will decide on a schedule a bit closer to the date, but for now mark your calendars!

I hope to see a few of you guys there!

yea, there are quite a few grills there. a little too stretched out though, but good for overflow of food. to anyone whos never been to ledges, i would like to warn you just in case. the park has river flow going over the roads. about 4 times if i remember correctly. so if anyone has anything they dont want getting wet, BELIEVE ME, take it slow and you will be fine. i have a clicking noise in my drive shafts on the stratus that hasnt gone away since then. but, for those who would like a cool picture, haul ass through nice laser too ovaboost. you need anything for it? ive gots me a parts car

I've talked to one of you guys before about meeting up my car is currently torn apart getting a new holset hx40 but hopefully ill have it together by then, my friend with a 98 gst lives in ames so if i have to ill ride with him since im not going to show up in my 1990 toyota pickup haha

I wish I could make it, but I've got a leadership training gig that weekend. If it's any consolation, it was a really hard decision to make between my photo portfolio and my resume.

Though I would very much like to do a shoot down there at some point. I'll let you know when next I can make it down so we can do this again, but it'll more than likely be in the spring.
