NE Ohio: I'm looking for a good mechanic
Been having some tuning issues with my car and I am looking for a good, honest person to take a look at it. The person who does my work normally has been tied up so I am looking for someone who has a little time to help me figure out what's going on.
Here is a thread addressing my current issue but I have some others as well. Or if you'd just like to help, please post to the thread.
Thanks. Please PM me or e-mail me at ryan@echostats.com.

Your problems sounds identical to the problem I just resolved yesterday. It will start out with the same symptoms as yours.
The car would cut out around 4500 rpms. Sometimes have rough start.
I changed out the plugs thinking it could be those. In fact they may have been causing problems too. Not too fond of the bosch +4 Platinum plugs. I changed the wires too. Ran great for a day or two. Then all hell broke loose. Car didn't even want to run. Computer kept resetting and constant cutout even at idle.
While checking the fuel filter I heard a clicking from the boost actuator solenoid. It should be located right on top of the air filter can. Try unplugging the power cord. It the car runs fine, I'd recommend running a line straight from your j pipe to your actuator. This will cause you to run only around 10 psi of boost. If you want higher you'll have to go with a mbc. I luckily had one I was about to connect anyway.
Hope this helps.

I need to get some fuel issues fixed and then I plan to take it up there to get it dyno tuned. I am currently struggling with some real problems but I want to have all my fuel upgrades before getting it tuned (fireball ignition, afpr, etc).

Try swinging by the sheetz on tusc one night and see if you see anyone around. If not pm me I'm going to be home here for a week within the next few weeks and I can get ahold of one of those guys to see if they could help you.
