i've about had it with buying stuff online, i hate waiting 7 million years for stuff to ship, dead beat sellers, sending wrong parts, etc... you know what i mean.

does anyone in michigan know where i can start buying my parts from? (preferably near the tri-city area) i live in bay city, and i really dont know anywhere to get performance parts for my car other than online. :thumbdown ill drive to detroit (or wherever for that matter) if i have to, just give me some ideas.

especially places that price match

Ya, I know exactly what you mean. I have been asking around to find a good shop in Michigan. A lot of people have been telling me about this place in Howell
Diversified Creations
5778 E. Grand River
Howell MI, 48843
www.diversifiedcreations.com

I stopped in there one day and talked to the guy behind the counter. There a new buisness but, they're growing. They can get you a part the next day (if it isnt in the showroom. The guy seemed cool. Thats all I could find. If you have any other suggestions...Pleease tell. :dsm: :talon: :laser:

Shops usually charge loot on products you cannot find a better price on something than the internet. Slowboyracing has some of the best prices around or ebay..I know u dont like to wait and ppl gankin u and stuff but you just gata be smart and patient about it..Think about it you go to a shop and want an exhaust they will charge u twice as much to make a profit. they order stuff online like me and u except of course they get deals cause they usually buy in bulk..Trust me no local shop is gonna be cheap finding stuff on the internet is way cheaper in my expericnce..Well its unless you have the hookups at the shop.

I buy most of my stuff from extremepsi.com only takes usually 2-3 days to get to me and its nothing for shipping.

buschur racing is probably only about 3-4 hours away from you or so.

go to Showdown Motorsports in Toledo .. they're pretty good on prices and know thier shit on DSM's
:dsm:

There's not a whole lot in Mich that's very good.

In Ohio, Buschur is good. They really know what they're doing. Good place to have work done and buy parts. Another decent choice is PURE-Tuning if you need work done. I know the guys over there and have seen some good work done by them. They really don't stock much DSM stuff though. They can get it, but they're primarily Honda. Showdown is a good place to pickup stock parts as they've got a huge DSM graveyard beyond the shop :) I wasn't impressed with their knowledge though. They've ordered in some stuff for me, seem like nice enough people.

dang is it a requirement for people that work at perf. shops to have tight whips if so im never gonna get a job at one. i know yall got soem hoopdee's behind the shop if not yall pay really well cause from that picture theres an evo, dsm with kit, what appears to be a black rx7 and and a pontiac firebird or transam possibly with the ws6 :thumb:

In my opinion, go to Payne. I would stay away from Showdown. I have had too too too many problems with them. Another place to go is Battleground Engineering. Its in atlanta, but they are awsome. If you just need parts give them a call or go online to batlground.com

do any of you michigan dsm-er's get together?

i'd like to find some people around the midland (hold the rich kid jokes) area to help out with problems if any arise, assist in modding, when i get cash, and just make it feel like there's a bit more DSM support in this area. i've seen maybe 3 or 4 dsm's ever around here that look like someone's serious about what they're doing.

im counting out the couple of rich a$$ midland kids who's rents bought them an eclipse and gave them money for a new BOV and exhaust. posers.

anyway, even a webring of people around here would be cool. i just recently got a new (to me) 92 talon tsi awd a/t.

just thought it'd be fun to find other supporters out there.

later days. :thumb: :talon:

Don't take this the wrong way, BUT "have you been hiding under a rock?" :) YES, MI DSM meets happen! I'm not sure that there's many in Midland, but they happen in other areas of the state for sure! :)

im not handicapped. i know it happens, but what i was asking is if it happens on a smaller scale. not necessarily a show, or meet.

more or less asking about local dsm clubs or something.

i just hate not having anyone with real dsm knowledge to ask when something goes wrong.

cuz right now i have a shit fuel injector, and a leaking valve cap gasket. so even just driving to k-zoo doesn't sit well with me. dumb kid before me took crap care of this car.

:talon:

hey man friendly advice if the injectors are crap replace them o and if the valve cover gasket leaks replace it its not hard.

basically for the valve cover you take out the 6 bolts holding it on then hit it gently with a rubber mallet to loosen its seal from the old gasket and pull off, then you take some gasket cleaner or a gasket scraper and scrape off the old gasket, then you install new gasket, might want to use rtv selant in the corners, not everywhere though. the you place it back on and install the 6 bolts going from center out then you have to torque them to specifications again going center first the out from center, this helps prevent cracking the valve cover.

Hell if youre really looking to hook your car up why not accompany the valve cover gasket job with some new spark plugs and wires, good ones like NGK Iridiums and magnecore wires.

cant hook you up with fuel inject. as ive never done that.

Pce.

it's all in the works. but for a while i didn't have the cash.

now i've got the cash. all i need is an injector. and i don't feel like paying 230 bucks for one new one. (thank you again satan)

i also don't have a garage. and as we all know, it's f*ing cold this time of year. so even checking fluids, or changing wiper blades sucks.

I know that you are looking for a shop in MI but Slowboy Racing has the best parts out there right now, and they have the best customer service :thumb: :dsm:

changing wipers and checking fluids takes 5 minutes suck it up panzee, o and you should pay 230 to get the oem ones, or you could pay like 400 for aftmrkt.

i said it was cold, i didn't say i didn't take care of my car. so there is no panzie in this senario.

as for the injectors, if i can find used oem, or a nice re-man. set im going with that. i don't need anything major, i just need the car to run well till i get the cash to upgrade the fuel system. which won't be for a while.

im getting ragged on, and my only intention was to find other cool dsmer's in my area.
