As the title says, my car got slow as hell right after i replaced the timing belt/water pump and the same day i decided to swap my t25 for a 14b.
When i was done with everything I took the car for a spin and i noticed i was leaking a lot of oil from the feed line (i forgot to upgrade the line). Anyway so the next day i decided to go back to the stock turbo. i started the car and it wasn't leaking oil anymore but i noticed it wasnt pulling hard like it used to.
I double checked everything and the timing seems fine. I did a BLT and i found a big leak from the throttle body so i replaced the 2 shaft seals (o-rings) and i noticed the car pulled a little bit better but still slow. Did another BLT and i didnt see no other big leaks.
i did feel some air coming from the oil dipstick tube (my dipstick broke and got sucked in) i dont know if thats normal though.
I just did a compression test and i got 145-147-160-160
I also re gaped the spark plugs to 0.28 (NGK iridium 6series)
Theres no check engine light. and Im going outta my mind because i dont know what else it could be. :banghead:

97 Gst Running 17psi.
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED :)

you said you got all of the big leaks when you did the blt. does this mean you didnt fix the little ones? enough little leaks can equal a big one. and i hope somthing isnt wrong with your timing since thats the only other thing you did to the car. and your compression looks a little low in the first two cylinders. i thought compression should be a little bit more closer to 180?

I didnt see no leaks at all when i did the second BLT.
Like i said just a lil air came out of the dipstick tube but thats all.
Timing seems fine like i said, otherwise i wouldve broke a valve or something.
And well i know cyl 1 and 2 are kinda low but could that be making the car slow?
Could it also be the turbo itself thats going bad?
theres no smoke or anything though.
The car has about 150k miles. and im pretty sure thats the stock turbo.

yea i didnt think my numbers were that bad.
and yea 2 friends and I tripple checked it.
i checked the turbo right before i put it back on.
there was just a lil bit of play in and out. thats all i checked since i couldnt see the inside of it. Oh and the turbine was spinning normally i think, i dont remember it scratching anything.
how else would i know if its a bad turbo?

ummm...i would try to get your dipstick out and check your oil..you said it leaked a lot of oil from the feed line. maybe lack off oil messed your turbo up or possibly somting in the engine. how long did you drive it leaking oil?

Yea Im going to try to remove the dipstick tube and push the dipstick up.
And it was jst One day (i had to drive it from baltimore to Virginia)
then like i said the next day i went back to the stock turbo.
that day i had to use at least 15 quarts of oil so i could make it home LOL
By the way, now i just noticed a noise (its like when u have a hole in your flexpipe)
But my downpipe seems fine, plus u can only hear the noise when youre driving, and its more noticeable in the lower gears. (maybe because of the wind when youre going faster, idk)

You have any fuel or tuning mods? Sounds like she might be pulling timing. Try turning down your boost to 12psi and see how she feels.

No i do not have any fuel or tuning mods yet.
But ive had it at 15psi for like 8 months and it was fine.
Then i turned it up a lil bit (17psi) i believe it was right before i did the timing belt.

But alright im going to set it at 12 psi and see what happens.

Just an update...
I took out the broken dipstick, replaced it and the oil lever is in between low and full. (im going to replace the oil and filter tomorrow)
i also set the Psi to like 10-12 but it feels the same.
I keep hearing that *broken exhaust type of noise*
it sounds like an Old truck. thats why it makes me think that its the turbo itself going bad.
