If you hear his corpse in the blower fan, than he probably mistook it for a hamster wheel, and tried running in there. When the blower turned on, his feet probably slipped through the blades, and it broke all four of his legs, pinning him in the fan for the most painful ride of his little mouse life. Logic dictates that if he came in from outside, he probably couldn't get past the blower fan, but as he decayed, centrifugal force probably spattered little bits of him through the blades of the fan, making a huge little mess inside the blower case.

To remove the motorized hamster wheel, look under the passenger side of the dash, and remove three screws from the thing that looks like this.

Have fun!:thumb:

i know its funny, but it smells god awful and im trying to a oid breaking anything by tearing out the dash. since the heater is making the sound whT is the chance that the problem is just in the heater/ blower?

will i have to remove the whole dash?

I bet there's a ton of shit where the evaporator goes. I replaced mine and it was 15 years of leaves and gunk. Gross. Especially with no cabin filters in these things.

I would take that dash out and fine that dead animal get out. Is not just the smell but all that decade particals flying around can get you sick.

If you find the source of the smell to be an animal, please have a camera ready... I gotta see this :thumb:

Its probably living in the blower wheel box. A member found his bad smell in hos HVAC blower. Post 22# in this threAd..

Good luck.
And just like that i'm not hungry any more! LOL

Dustydc2, try flushing/cleaning the parts with vinegar, it should help remove any smell off the surfaces.
Also put some coffee or charcoal briquettes in each vent. This will help by soaking up any remaining smell untill everything is vented out. Charcoal will work better since you can take it out later as one piece to get rid of it.
