are there any good shops that are familiar with dsms in the 626 area?
i recently picked up a 95 gsx, i wanted to go get some general maintenance done, and have a mechanic familiar with dsms to go over it and see what it needs as far as maintenance goes. this is my first turbocharged awd manual vehicle. and my second mitsubishi (i also have a fwd 2010 lancer as a DD).
i know i need a new front driverside cv boot, and i was recommended to just replace the whole axle. and i have also been having starting problems which i think could be the ground wire from the battery (optima yellowtop), or something loose altogether (starts first time every time, after driving around a bit, and turning it off with 2 minute wait on the turbotimer, ill come back and try to start the car and it'll just click, radio/dash gets power, after trying to start it like 10-15 times, it'll start right up with no problems
). guy who sold it to me replaced the starter less than 2 months ago, so hopefully it isn't a starter/alternator problem.
and i could probably use a new timing belt as it makes a loud screech upon startup but goes away after 30 seconds or so. current mods are just aftermarket radiator, greddy turbo timer, autometer boost gauge, and an hks knockoff bov.
i eventually wanna do a fmic/turbo upgrade/fuel system upgrade, and an ecu tune. so a shop/someone close to the 626 that can do that would be nice and convenient.
i am familiar with RRE as well, and will take it to them if there isn't anyone closer to me. i just don't want to take it a general mechanic and have him try to recommend to replace a bunch of things that are unneeded.
