Today I removed the lower honey comb, and the FTo2, an low fuel trims went haywire? Also the o2 sensor was reading 0.00 volts at idle. I could tell it wasn't running quite right. The FT o2 read 100% at idle. but at cruise it was up to 167% at times?

Should I replace the honey comb or let it be? Whats going on here. LOL I've uploaded two logs one cruising at 45mph, and one at idle.

I don't get it, in an attempt to get my IAT down I routed a small piece of flex tubing to the air filter but it never got down past 90* really, and its 65* outside. I was doing 75mph just to see if it would ever go down it didn't. Thats when I noticed the fuel trims.

can I just remove the resistor on the maf, and replace it with a new one to see if that would work? I'm not getting any codes at all, but I even put a piece of ice on it, and it read on the logger that the ice was only 48 degree's. This can't be right. :ohdamn::mad::toobad:

Honestly, I would just put the honeycomb back in. Its not worth the hassle without something to adjust the fuel. The Gvr4 stock maf comes without the lower honeycomb and it still runs a slightly different compensation map on the ecu. There really isn't much of a significant power gain either. I would begin to shop around for a 2gmas and something to compensate(safc, chip, etc)

Right on I'll put the honeycomb back. Its like without it its telling the ecu everything's lean. I even reset the ecu. I'm kind of leaning toward this ostrich, speed density thing I been researching. I can't wait for the front mount.

the car runs good...real good, it just feels better when the AIT is below 80*.

Just put it back for now!
I run speed density, only oldskool with the chip burner:coy:
I'm very happy with it and definitely recommend it:thumb:
Very easy to tune with the wideband, but then again the wb makes it so easy.
Have you considered fabbing a Cold Air Intake for your intake temps? There are some good writeups on here as well as vfaq.com

Well, thinking yeah. I've looked around at the idea. I seen one mod where you put a 100ohm resistor in line for the AIT to take it down. But I kind of wanted to steer away from that Idea. I'd rather like you say modify so the temps really go down. LOL

I piped in a small tubing to kind of draw air through, and dump it right in front of the air filter but that didn't really seem to work. Also I REALLY need to weld up a heat shield for the exhaust manifold. The stock one was complete rust, and I can't see how that thing was doing any shielding at all. I may do Stainless steel, and then use some heat cloth, and line it with that too.

Oh, when I said it runs good. I meant besides taking the honeycomb out in general its a beast! I'm putting it back first thing tomorrow.

As far as the resistor, don't bother with any "band-aid" solutions. You said you're putting it back:thumb:

Get yourself a used 2g heat shield, they seem to not crack and go bad like the 1g shields. They definitely lower the underhood temps, too. If you can fab one up, more power to you!

Hey, I went ahead and put the screen back in whats twenty minutes at 3:00 LOL. I'm going to go down to the srap yard and see if I can get my hands on a small piece of stainless. I got a miller 120 so I'd be good to go. I'm going to just take some cardboard, and cut out some patterns, and then when I get it like I want it I'll transfer that over to the steel. The only problem is going to be the bends as I don't have a brake. but I doo have some tricks to brake steel in a vise!:shhh: Good night!
